Peru and Bolivia. Puno is considered the folkloric capital of Peru, located on the second place after Cusco (cuzco): Machu Picchu tours (macchu picchu, machu pichu,machu picchu) and the Inca Trail (inka trail), it is the destination of choice for tourists worldwide .Titicaca Lake is one of the world´s highest navigable lake, which has an excellent natural beauty, vibrant culture and above all a wonderful village that still maintains its customs and tradition.

Inca walls, colorful costumes, churches built on top of palaces, citadels lost in the Andean heights, legendary roads-all the beauty of a glorious past that enfolds the visitors who arrives in Cuzco, the sacred city of the Incas and archaeological capital of the Americas.

Ever since US archaeologist Hiram Bingham discovered the citadel of Machu Picchu for the world, Cusco has fired the imagination of millions of travelers from all over the world. The city of Lima is the seat of the national government and the financial, industrial and commercial center of the country. Peru´s best restaurants and art and crafts shops are here and many of the classic colonial buildings are located in the historic center. No country in South America cooks like Peru and Lima is its gastronomic heart, so during your stay in Lima you must try these delicious dishes.

Day 01: Lima – city tour

Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Free morning.

In the afternoon you will have a guided tour of the city, visiting the main attractions of Lima: Paseo de la Republica, San Martin square, the main square, the Archbishop’s Palace, Santo Domingo Convent, and the old colonial houses of Lima. Return to your hotel.

Day 02: Lima – Nazca

Early morning transfer to the station to take the  bus to Nazca. On the journey you will be able to see diverse geography, beautiful scenery and fields of crops including cotton, grapes, rice and sugar cane, all typical of the area. At your arrival in Nazca, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 03: Nazca Lines – Arequipa.

Breakfast. Transfer to Nazca aerodrome. In the waiting room you will be shown a video explaining each of the figures found at this site whilst you wait for your flight. At the indicated time you will fly over the Nazca lines and see the famous figures like the whale, triangles, trapezoids, the astronaut, the monkey, the spider, the hummingbird, the condor, etc. In the afternoon transfer to the bus station to take a bus to Arequipa, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 04: Arequipa – City Tour.

Free morning. In the afternoon we will take a tour of the city visiting the main square, the Cathedral, the church of La Compañia, San Francisco church, the municipal museum and Santa Catalina Convent.

Day 05: Arequipa – Colca Canyon – Chivay.

Leaving Arequipa at 8.30am, we head along the road to Yura, following alongside Chachani volcano before then passing through Cañahuas pampa (where we will stop to watch vicuñas in their natural environment). We will make a second stop to enjoy a coca tea which will help you avoid altitude sickness. At this point we will be at 3800 m.a.s.l. and we will continue our ascent to 4800 m.a.s.l. (at the viewpoint of the volcanoes). We then start to descent to the village of Chivay. Lunch, accommodation in your hotel. Free afternoon, you can enjoy the thermal baths at La Calera (swimming pool of medicinal thermal waters).

Day 06: Colca Canyon – Arequipa.

Breakfast very early in the morning, then we head towards the Condor Cross, the place where we can enjoy views over the the Colca Canyon and watch the condors in flight. Afterwards we will visit the viewpoints at Wayrapunko, Andaguilque and Choquetico and the villages of Pinchillo, Maca, Achoma and Yanque, arrival in Chivay and transfer to your hotel.

Day 07: Chivay – Cusco.

Our journey starts at 7am, heading towards the high part of the Colca Valley and passing through the traditional villages of Tuti and Sibayo. At around 8am we will stop to see the impressive Castles of Callalli (rock formations which look like medieval castles formed by water and wind erosion). At 10am we will pass close to the Condoroma Dam, at this point we find ourselves at 4737 m.a.s.l., then at around 10.30am we will make another stop to see the Stone Forest, located in the area of Yauri (a traditional village). Continuing our journey towards Cusco, we stop at the Langui Lagoon, a magnificent natual mirror of 25 km in length, and one hour later we arrive at Sicuani where we will stop for 50 minutes for you to buy lunch at a local restaurant. At around 2.20pm we resume our journey passing through the villages of Andahuaylillas and Urcos, arriving at the Imperial City of Cusco at around 04:00pm. reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 08: Cusco – Tour of the city

In the afternoon we will take a tour of the city, visiting the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), Cusco Cathedral, the four archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay (water temple). Return to your hotel.

Day 09: Sacred Valley of the Incas

After breakfast, at around 8am, we will start our excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will begin by visiting the archaeological complex of Pisac and its handicrafts market then continue towards Urubamba where we will stop for lunch. Finally we will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo. On the way back to Cusco we will visita Chincheros.

Day 10: Cusco – Machupicchu.

Early morning transfer to the startion to take the train to the village of Machu Picchu. You will be met at the station in Aguas Calientes and taken to catch a bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. On arrival at the archaeological site we will take a guided tour of about two and a half hours, after that you will have free time to explore the site on your own. At the agreed time you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then tahe the train back to Cusco. Reception and trasfer to your hotel.

Day 11: Cusco – Puno.

In the morning we take a touristic bus to Puno, stopping along the way to visit some  attractions. We start with the Chapel of Andahuaylillas, or the Sistine Chapel of America, a temple that dates from the XVII century. Continuing our journey we then visit the archaeological complex of Raqchi, known as the temple of the God Wiraqocha, the supreme Inca deity. Around midday we arrive in Sicuani for lunch,  then continue the excursion to La Raya (4335 m.a.s.l.), the border between the Cusco and Puno provinces, where we can see the famous Chimboya snow peak where the Amazon River is born and also appreciate the traditional handcrafted furriery of the area. Before arriving at our final destination of Puno we stop to visit the famous Pukara lithic museum (3900 m.a.s.l.), a culture that developed in the year 1600 BC. Here we find ceramics and sculptures representing zoomorphic figures, among them the famous HATUNÑAQAC sculpture which we could translate for these times as the supreme executioner. Finally, at around 5pm we will arrive in Puno. recption and transfer to your hotel.

Day 12: Puno – Copacabana – Sun Island – La Paz.

Early in the morning we transfer by road to the Sanctuary of Copacabana to board a catamaran cruise boat. We begin the journey enjoying a light snack on board as we head towards the Sun Island. In this legendary island we will visit the garden, the stairway and the spring of the Inca. We then visit the Inti Wata Cultural Complex, the principal private tourist attraction of Bolivia, including the subterranean museum of the Ekako, the traditional medicine centres and the construction of totora rafts, the Pachamama terraces of Inca agriculture, a handicrafts centre, the Intica refuge and a great variety of Andean camelids at the Manco Kapac mirador. The visit to the Inti Wata complex also includes a ride on a huge typical totora raft and a panoramic view of the Pilkokaina Inca palace. Afterwards we board our catamaran again to go to Chua port, enjoying a buffet lunch on board, and from here we take a bus to travel by road to the city of La Paz. Transfer to hotel.

Day 13: La Paz – Moon Valley – Flight home

Morning free. In the afternoon city tour and visit to the Moon Valley. We start by visiting the famous witches market, the colonial church of San Francisco and the handicraft shops of Calle Sagarnaga. The tour continues towards Murillo Square where we find the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Government Palace and Parliament. We then visit the famous colonial street Calle Jaen, where a few of the important museums of the city are concentrated, before continuing to a replica of the semi-subterranean temple of the Tiwanaku Culture. Changing scene, the tour continues towards the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida. The tour finishes with a spectacular view of the Moon Valley, passengers will have the opportunity to take a short walk and visit a ceramic workshop where you can see a demonstration of this art. Transfer to La Paz airport to take your flight back home.
