At around 8.30am we will pick you up from your hotel and head to the north of the city. After about 20 minutes we reach the place where we will find our horses and drivers. Here you will receive a brief explanation about how to ride the horses and some general advice to keep in mind during the tour before starting our ride.
Our first visit will be to the Quenqo archeological centre, then our ride will continue through the woods where you can see local tree species such as queuña, molle and chachacoma, until reaching Puca Pucara, “the red gateway”. This place was used as a military post and control point for entry to the city of Cusco in Inca times. We continue our tour visiting Tambomachay, known as the house of the “Inca baths”, a place where water was worshipped and which was also used as a place of rest and purification. Finally we visit the Sacsayhuaman archaeological park (the “head of the puma”). After finishing the tour we take our transport to return to Cusco and your hotel.
