Highlights

The Inca Trail to Machupicchu is considered one of the best adventures programms of the whole world, and this is because its great variety of scenaries and ecological biodiversity and for its impressive inca's momuments visited during the trek as well. The trail sets out from Qorihuayrachina, at Kilometer 88 the Cuzco-Quillabamba railway, and takes three to four days of tough hiking. The route runs through an impressive range of altitudes, where climates and eco-systems range from the high Andean plain down to the cloud forests. The trail climbs up through two highland passes (the higher of the two, Warmiwañuska, lies at 4,200 masl (13776 feet) before reaching Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku or Gateway of the Sun. One of the attractions of the trail is the past carved granite Inca settlements (Wiñay Wayna, Phuyupatamarca), surrounded by breath-taking natural scenery. The forests abound in hundreds of species of orchids, brightly-colored birds and dream-like landscapes which are the ideal complement to this amazing hikers’ route

Itinerary

 

Day 01  Cusco.

Welcome at the Cusco’s airport. Transfer to your selected hotel. rest of the day free.

 

Day 02 Cusco: Beginning the Inca trail Cusco - Huayllabamba
We will leave early from Cusco by bus, arriving to the 82 km. In this place we'll get in contact with porters and cooks, who will take the necessary equipment for the trip. We will begin the Inca Trail crossing the piscacucho bridge then we'll climb to arrive to Patallaqta, where we will have lunch, then continue our journey crossing the Valley of Huayllabamba, until our campsite where we will have a pleasant dinner.

Day 03 Inca trail Huayllabamba - Pacaymayu
Early breakfast. We will continue our trek until Warmihuañusca at 4,200 m.a.s.l., here we will have a panoramic view of the montains and high snowy picks surrounding us.  
We will descend to our next campsite, Pacaymayu. Here we will have dinner and overnight.

Day 04 Inca trail Pacaymayu . Wiñaywayna

Early breakfast. then we will begin the trekking ascending toward Runcuracay, an archeological area at 3,700 m.a.s.l., then we will continue toward Sayacmarka, another archeological area. We will have lunch here. After luch we will continue to Puyupatamarca (in Quechua, City above the clouds), impressive Inca City. Finally we will arrive to Wiñaywayna to 2,690 m.a.s.l where we will have dinner and overnight.

Day 05 Wiñaywayna -
Machupicchu
After breakfast we will continue until our arrival to Inti Punku or The Door of the Sun, wonderful entrance to the Machupicchu citadel. Here, we will have a guided tour in this wonderful citadel. Later we'll go down in bus to the small town of Aguas Calientes, and after lunch (not included) we will take the train back to Cusco.


Day 6. Flight back home or your next destination.

Transfer to the Cusco’s airport for your flight to Lima and then take your connecting flight to home or your next destination.
