Highlights

The department of Arequipa is synonymous with volcanoes and snow-capped peaks, clear blue skies and endless plains. The region lies on the western slopes of the Andes, and is the jumping-off point for a series of climbs of varying difficulty, which stand out for their rare combination of beautiful landscapes, easy access and their ancient cultural heritage. The adventure begins in the white city, Arequipa, the goal is to climb until the top of Chachani Volcano at 6075 m.o.s.l., from this point it is possible to appreciate the Misti, the Pichu Pichu and other volcanoes and mountains from the Peruvian Andes.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Pick up from your hotel at 8.00 a.m. After 2 hours we will arrive in Aguada Blanca here it is possible to see Vicuñas, after 45 minutes we will be in Pampa Cañahuas here we are at Chachani´s back in . After a short break will walk for around 5 hours to get at base camp which will be already and completely set at our arrival. We will make a stop for a picnic before to get in base camp, in that moment passengers can drink a hot beverage or rest till dinner.


Day 2:
02H00 very early in the morning, after breakfast we'll begin to ascend until the top of Chachani Volcano (6075 m.o.s.l), it will take 07 hours. It will take around 4 hours to come back to our base camp.  In our base camp there will be hot beverages. Dinner.


Day 3:
We will take breakfast at 07H30 will start descending around 08H30, will walk around 2 hours and a half till Pampa Cañahuas, then we will take the bus to come back Arequipa.
