"The city of the churches" it is said that in Ayacucho city there is a temple in each corner. The Cathedral , La Compañia de Jesus, San Francisco de Asis, Santo domingo, are some of the more beautiful colonial churches of the city. Land of great Artists, Ayacucho also offers to the tourists master pieces like Retablos, small Portraits where is represented andean daily life. Ayacucho also offers to its visitors amazing pre incas ruin as WARI ,and historic places such as Pampa de La Quinua, where took place the Battle of Ayacucho, or Battle of La Quinua, a few kilometers away from Ayacucho, near the town of Quinua between Royalist and Independentist forces. Independentist forces were led by Antonio José de Sucre, Simón Bolívar's lieutenant.
Itinerary
Day 1: Ayacucho City Tour.
Arrival at Ayacucho assistance in bus station and transfer by our representative to your hotel. Afternoon guided city tour around 02:00 pm Huamanga It is known as “the city of churches” since people say that there is a church on practically every corner in Ayacucho, The Cathedral, the company of Jesus Christ, San Francisco, Santo Domingo and Santa Clara are some of the most beautiful colonial churches in the city. Capital of artisans and also offers its visitors impressive works. Duration 04:30 hrs approx. Overnight in your hotel selected.
Day 2: Tour to Wari-Quinua-Pampa de Ayacucho.
Breaksfast. Morning tour around 09:00 am transfer from your hotel to start your tour to Wari.
Wari is a classic example of pre-Hispanic urban planning and engineering techniques. The urban nucleus sprawls across some 400 ha and is thought to have housed 40,000 inhabitants at its peak. It is located in a strategic position due to its rapid access to the central coast and jungle, and the fact it lies halfway between the northern and southern highlands, where the Wari people built administrative centers and colonies. Duration 04:30 hrs approx. Overnight in your selected hotel.
Day 3: Tour to Pikimachay-Huanta-Luricocha.
Breakfast, Morning tour around 09:00 am transfer from your hotel to star your tour to Pikimachay-Huanta-Luricocha. Pikimachay, group of caves where founded paleolithic stone tools and animal bones dating back 20,000 years ago. Then continue to our next destination Huanta is known as “the esmerald of the Andes” for its auspicious location and its wealth of flora and fauna. Finally visit Luricocha this is the fruit capital of the department. Duration 04:30 hrs approximately. Overnight in your selected hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to the bus station.
Breakfast, transfer to the bus station to come back to Lima.
