Arequipa was recognized as a city in 1541. Throughout its history, Arequipa has also been the cradle of leading thinkers and politicians. Today, the visitor can take in the spectacular neo-Reanissance Cathedral, the impressive Santa Catalina Convent and colonial mansions and museums, all of which are reason enough to visit Arequipa. The Colca Valley is without a doubt the best-known both in Peru and abroad. Just four hours northeast of the city, the Colca boasts some of the most breath-taking landscapes in Peru: superb terracing, snow-capped peaks, dizzying canyons and towns dating back to the sixteenth century. The visitors to the Colca Valley will surely be fascinated by the narrow streets and richly decorated churches. The Colca is also a haven for adventure sports fans

Itinerary

Day 01: Arequipa – City tour.
Transfer airport - hotel, around the 2:30 p.m. City tour guided, visits the Main Square, the Cathedral, La Compañia and San Francisco churches, Municipal Museum, Large houses and Santa Catalina Convent.

Day 02: Arequipa – Chivay
Approximately at 08:30 a.m. Departure to Chivay, on the way we'll visite the quarries of sillar; vicuñas, flames and alpacas national reserve, town of Vizcachani, Chuchuna volcano and the Viewpoint of Patapampa, arrival to Chivay tourist lunch in Chivay. Overnight at your selected hotel.

Day 03: Colca Canyon – (Cruz del Cóndor) – Arequipa
Early breakfast, 06:30 a.m. We'll departure to Cruz del Condor Viewpoint, possible observation of Condors, terraces in the canyon, return to Chivay, on the way visits the towns of Pinchollo, Achomayo and Yanque, return to Arequipa. Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 04: Transfer Hotel - Airport
After breakfast transfer to Arequipa´s airport or bus station.
