Amazon River Iquitos Caucho program 2 Days/1 Night

Day 1:
A tour around the center of the city to get to know the most significant landmarks, some of which are from the rubber boom followed by dinner in a central restaurant.
Transfer to the lodge by boat down the Amazon. Visit the ‘Paiche’ farm – the largest fresh water fish; during the transfer we will note various different communities on the banks of the Amazon. Arriving at the lodge we will be welcomed with a local drink and will find our rooms. One night in the Amazon Botanical Lodge with full board. Take the ‘medicinal plant walk' and get to know ‘uña de gato’, ‘sangre de grado’ and ‘clavo huasca’ amongst others. Enjoy spectacular views of the Amazon from a well placed viewpoint and finish the day with a night walk to see tarantulas and insects.

Day 2:
Get to know the local birds in their natural habitat and take a ride in a canoe near the lodge. We will see a native tribe, the ‘Monkey Island’. Visit to a small zoo to see the anaconda, some species of monkeys among other animals, Transfer to the airport or hotel.
