Day 01: Arequipa – Misti northern base camp – eagles nest.
Early morning departure from the hotel. Private transport will take us via Cabrerias and Aguada Blanca National Reserve to Misti´s northern base camp at approximately 3,800 meters. We will trek to 4,800 metres, have a short stop for lunch and continue walking eastwards over volcanic ash or tuff until we reach our base camp. Dinner and overnight at the “Eagles Nest”.
Day 02: Eagles Nest – Cross Misti – Arequipa.
After an early breakfast we start the climb at around 3am. We will climb for 5 or 6 hours to reach the peak, whose highest point is at 5,825 metres above sea level. From here we can see the Aguada Blanca Natural Reserve, the neighbouring volcanoes of Chachani and Pichu Pichu, and other snow peaks.
After a rest to enjoy the landscape, we begin our descent to the camp where we can eat then descend to where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Arequipa. We will arrive in Arequipa later that afternoon.
