Yale will return all Machu Picchu pieces
[ 2011-04-25 12:26:31 ] This date with history will take place by the second part of June, when the pieces of Machu Picchu is send from Lima to Cusco, where the Concha House, owned by the San Antonio Abad University, will welcome and take good care of this missing and important part of the cultural legacy of Machu Picchu.
This news comes after a two weeks long exhibition of the wonderful artifacts and human remains, returned by Yale University, at the Government Palace in Lima. More than one hundred thousand people gathered there to admire this pieces in just fifteen days. After the exhibition, all the objects, ceramics, bones and vessels will continue to be classified from Sunday 24th until their long awaited transportation to the south of the country.
The almost four hundred parts of the inca past are just a little portion of the forty thousand pieces still being kept by the Yale University. But this prestigious institution has already sign an agreement with the Peruvian Government to return all the Machu Picchu pieces by 2012. It could happen in at least three shipments.
